Early life
Park Bom enrolled in Lesley University majoring in Psychology but switched to Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts and major in music studies. She resided in America for six years before moving to YG Entertainment for training. She has been training with YG Entertainment since 2005 and was noted to debut as a solo singer and release a single on March 2007 which got further pushed into May. Since then, YG has changed gears and has now put her in 2ne1 with fellow members Gong Minji, CL, and Sandara Park. She was originally known as an R&B popstar singer but because of her Samsung "Anystar" with Hyori Lee, where she showcased her great dance skills, she was expected to become a "dance singer".

She is fluent in Korean, English and Japanese. She can also play piano, flute and cello.
