Park Gyuri was a child actress and in another company before she left and auditioned for DSP. She was picked as Kara's leader not only because she was one of the older members but also because of her abilities as a singer and dancer. She also chose KARA's name. Her mother is a dubber and Gyuri has inherited that talent. She often does her own voice imitations of Jadu and Gummy.
