Early life
Not much is known about CL's early life. Through 2NE1 reality documentary 2NE1TV, we know that CL was born in Korea. Since young, she travel a lot with her family due to her father's occupation. She spent a lot of her childhood in Japan, France(?), and U.S. When CL came back to Korea, she barely knows any Korean.
CL became a YG Trainee since late 2006, early 2007. Before her very 1st feature Big Bang (band)'s 2nd Mini Album, title song "Hot Issue", in late 2007, she was only known as the "mysterious 16 year-old" YG trainee. One month later, CL made her official stage debut on SBS Music Award along side of all her fellow artist of YG Entertainment.
Original, there was plan for CL to debut as a solo artist. But now, CL is a part of one of the hottest female group in Korea 2NE1.
She is fluent in Korean, English, French and Japanese.
