H.O.T. was a popular five-member South Korean boy band of the mid to late 1990s. The five-member boy band enjoyed massive success[citation needed] alongside the likes of Sechs Kies, Baby Vox, Fin.K.L., S.E.S. and Shinhwa. Like many Korean bands, their name is an acronym - H.O.T. standing for "High-five Of Teenagers". They were formed by SM Entertainment in 1996 and disbanded in 2001.

Jang Woo Hyuk (장우혁) (born May 8, 1978) is a South Korean rapper, who was a member of the band H.O.T.. After H.O.T. disbanded, Woo Hyuk formed the trio JTL with his former H.O.T members Tony An and Lee Jae Won. JTL unofficially disbanded as its members began pursuing solo careers. Kangta (강타) (born October 10, 1979) is a South Korean singer, first known as the lead singer of legendary boy band H.O.T. (High-five of Teenagers). Kangta, his stage name, is the symbol for great hit in Hangul as An Chilhyun (안칠현) is his real name.

He has been a vigorous songwriter and composer, having written over 100 songs for H.O.T.'s albums as well as for other groups and singers like NRG and Fly to the Sky. When H.O.T. disbanded in March 2001, a legion of loyal fans was in rage. However a couple of months after the group disbanded, Kangta surprised many people by becoming the first member to debut solo. He released his first solo album "Polaris", which became a huge hit; it was followed by his second album "Pinetree" in 2002. His first solo concert took place on August 24, 2003.
In 2006, Kangta was chosen as a runner up for Best Korean Singer overseas, according to Arirang International Broadcasting. A poll was issued over the internet, allowing only foreigners to vote. Shinhwa's song "Once In A Lifetime" won by 60% of the vote, beating Kangta, who came in second with 20.3 percent
In 2007, he filmed two dramas and Love in the city 2 aired on October 1, 2007.
In 2008, Kangta was initially scheduled for military service at the beginning of the year, but SM Entertainment helped him defer it to April so he could release his last album "Eternity" as a memoir for his fans. The album was released on March 12, 2008 and was his first in three years.On March 29 and March 30, Kangta held his last solo concert at Yonsei University's main auditorium. His previous solo concert was five years ago. His concert, "Eternity", was aimed at looking back at his last twelve years as a singer and thanking his fans.On April 1, 2008, Kangta officially began his military duties in Euijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.Kangta is currently enlisted in the Korean army for two years, which every male is required to service in. He is expected back in mid-2010.

Tony An (토니안) (born on June 7, 1978) is a South Korean singer best known for being part of the popular K-pop boy band H.O.T.. After H.O.T. disbanded in 2001, its ex-members Tony An, Jang Woo Hyuk and Lee Jae Won formed the dance music trio JTL. Eventually, JTL unofficially disbanded as each member, including Tony, released their solo material. He is also the CEO of TN Entertainment, a music entertainment company; Skoolooks, a school uniform company; and Shinenihs, an undergarment company. Popular comedians Jung Hyung Don and Jo Hye Ryun are both part of TN Entertainment. He studied stage performance at the graduate level at Dongguk University.

Tony is rumored to have had a relationship with Seeya's member, Nam Gyu-Ri for two years. However, they have both denied it.
Many Korean female stars admitted that they used to have a big crush on Tony. Some of those stars are: Lee Hyori, Ivy, Nam Sang Mi, and Kara's member, Park Gyu Ri.

Lee Jae Won is an actor, singer, and a rapper. He was the youngest member of the Korean groups H.O.T and JTL. He is a graduate of Kyonggi University.

On April 4th, 2005 during a hiatus from J.T.L activities and following the release of fellow bandmate Tony An's solo album, Jae Won released his first solo album No Pain No Gain. Unfortunately, the album received disappointing sales. Despite that, Jae Won released a 1.5 album and his single I'm So Hot on May 9th 2007. It has received much attention due to his new sexy image, though the song also received a lot of negative attention because many speculate that the song was plagiarized from Mariah Carey's song It's Like That.
